Individual Counselling

Life doesn’t always give us space to pause, and when emotions or stress start building, it can be hard to make sense of what you’re feeling. You might be overwhelmed, anxious, low on energy, or unsure how to move forward, even if things seem fine on the outside. Individual counselling offers a calm and supportive space where you can unpack what’s been going on and feel genuinely heard. This is not about fixing you or rushing through solutions. It’s about slowing down, getting clear on what matters, and finding small, steady steps toward feeling more grounded and connected to yourself. Whether you’re facing something specific or just know that things don’t feel right, this is a place to begin understanding yourself in a new way.

Who This Is For

Couples Counselling

Relationships can feel complicated, especially when communication starts to break down or connection begins to fade. You might find yourselves stuck in the same arguments, avoiding certain conversations, or feeling more like roommates than partners. Couples counselling provides a space where both of you can feel heard, supported, and better understood. This process is not about assigning blame or choosing sides. It is about uncovering the patterns that are getting in the way, learning how to communicate with more care, and finding your way back to each other with honesty and intention.

Who This Is For

Communication has become difficult or tense and it’s wearing you both down
You’re navigating a big change or decision and need support
Trust has been broken and you’re not sure how to move forward together
You miss feeling close and want to reconnect with your partner

Anxiety and Depression Support

Living with anxiety or depression can make everyday life feel heavy and exhausting. It might take all your energy just to get out of bed or keep up appearances, even when everything inside feels numb or overwhelming. This type of support gives you space to explore what is going on beneath the surface and to begin understanding your experience with more clarity and care. Together, we look at what has been weighing on you and begin to explore ways to ease that load. You do not have to face this alone, and there is no pressure to have it all figured out before reaching out.

Who This Is For

You often feel overwhelmed by worry or stuck in your thoughts
Things that used to bring you joy feel distant or flat
You’re tired all the time but can’t seem to rest or feel better
You want help but aren’t sure where to begin or what to say

Youth Counselling

The youth years can be full of change, uncertainty, and pressure from all directions. Between school demands, shifting friendships, family tension, and questions around identity, it is easy for young people to feel overwhelmed or misunderstood. Youth counselling creates a space where they can talk freely, without judgment, and explore what they are going through in a way that feels safe and respectful. This support is tailored to meet them where they are, helping them build confidence, emotional awareness, and tools for coping with challenges. It is also a space where caregivers can better understand how to show up and support their youth during these important years.

Who This Is For

Your youth seems anxious, withdrawn, angry, or overwhelmed

There’s been a recent change or event affecting their mental health
They’re facing challenges around friendships, identity, or confidence

You’re a parent or caregiver looking for ways to better support your youth

Trauma and Violence-Informed Therapy

Trauma and Violence-Informed Therapy

The effects of trauma are not always left in the past. They can stay with you in your body, in your emotions, in relationships, and in how you move through the world each day. Trauma therapy offers a space where your experiences are respected and your healing process is never rushed or forced. We focus on creating a sense of safety, working at your pace, and helping you regain connection to your inner strength and voice. Healing is not about erasing what happened, but about finding new ways to carry it with more ease and self-compassion.

Who This Is For

You’ve gone through something painful or traumatic that still affects you
You feel anxious, disconnected, or constantly on alert
You’re struggling with boundaries, trust, or a sense of safety
You want support from someone who understands trauma and won’t judge your experience

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the cost of counselling sessions and will my insurance plan cover it?

Counselling sessions (50 minutes) cost $165 and most employee benefit plans will reimburse clients for therapy with Registered Clinical Counsellors. Please check the details of your plan to see if it covers the cost of counselling with an RCC. At Sage Hills, we do offer several sliding scale sessions each week to clients who do not have insurance and need assistance with the cost of therapy. Contact us for more information.

Do you direct bill for clients who have coverage under First Nations Health Authority (FNHA), Metis Nation British Columbia (MNBC), Crime Victims Assistance Program (CVAP) or BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS)?

We do accept clients who are covered under programs such as FNHA, MNBC, CVAP and BCEHS. Once you are set up for coverage under these organizations, we are able to direct bill on your behalf. Please contact us if you have questions regarding accessing these services.

How can I tell if I'm ready to begin counselling?

Feeling ready for counselling doesn’t always mean having everything figured out. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, curious about personal growth, or simply want someone to talk to in a non-judgmental space, it might be a good time to start. You don’t need a crisis to benefit and many people begin counselling just to better understand themselves or improve their relationships.

What’s the typical duration of counselling?

The length of counselling varies from person to person. Some clients attend for a few sessions to address a specific issue, while others engage in longer-term work for deeper exploration and ongoing support. WE work together to figure out your needs and adjust the frequency or duration as needed.
